Fracking Is Pretty Hard To Understand — Until It Isn’t

It’s a technique that’s been around since the 1940s, but the recent exhaustion of natural gas resources through traditional extraction methods has made fracking the popular kid in school.

Unfortunately for the “school” (the environment), “Johnny Fracking” (hydraulic fracturing) “is a jackass” (has a tendency to tamper with the drinking water) and should be “sent to the principal’s office” (more tightly regulated and policed to discourage fracking companies from carelessly dealing with the waste).

Sorry, extended metaphors are difficult for me.
