“In the World, but not of the World” with Shamanism

Miguel Ruiz, Tolec linage of Daun Juan , Talks of this in a profound way. He refers to the “ of the world” as the mitote, fog or the drama that is unconscious survival and habits of the daily day after day mundane, head down working for egoic or materialistic goals.

A modern example is from the movie the Matrix, where Neo knows there is more than his daily existence, he feels it, he touches it in his daydreams but he can’t grasp it with his mind. As the movie progresses he learns to see beyond the mundane of daily habitual functioning and move in the world without being a part of it. He learns the truth of existence.

Many eastern traditions refer to it as “the veil” and once one pierces the veil and sees the truth there really is no going back.

Through my shamanic training, many years ago I underwent a profound transformation which included the piercing of the veil I had to redefine all my action and interactions with everything and everyone in the world. I chose to redefine myself as I related to the 3D existence.  The ability to hold awareness in 3 foci and dance the dance between Spirit, Inner and External worlds.
